 LIGHT UP A LIFE
The holidays are a special time of the year for reflection, memory and appreciation of those whose lives or deeds have touched ours. Every November and December Hospice of Lubbock’s Annual Light Up A Life Fundraiser offers the opportunity to remember, honor or celebrate the lives and events of those we love. Throughout the months, individuals and supporters can make a donation toward the purchase of a symbolic light on the Hospice Tree of Lights to memorialize, honor or celebrate one of these special people or events. This year, 2010, Hospice of Lubbock once again invites the community to gather round the Hospice Tree of Lights. The beautiful tree of hospice blue lights is “on the ground” at the corner of 19th & University (Staybridge Suites corner) for all to see and enjoy. And…this year we are adding a second Hospice Of Lights tree at the main entrance of the South Plains Mall next to Barnes and Noble Book Store. This tree will have blue ribbons with the names of those remembered through a memorial, honoring or in celebration of someone near and dear.
This fundraising event generates more and more light purchases each year. These beautiful trees of blue lights and blue ribbons will get us closer to our fundraising goal of $60,000. This generous community will once again help further the Hospice of Lubbock mission to serve children and adults facing terminal illness.
There are three easy ways to LIGHT UP A LIFE: Online at www.hospiceoflubbock.org, go to main entrance of South Plains Mall, Lubbock Texas, or mail your donation with the name(s) of the person(s) you wish to remember to: Hospice of Lubbock, PO Box 16800, Lubbock, TX 79490.
For a Donation of $25 or more, a light will be lit and a Christmas acknowledgment card will be sent to the person or persons designated by the donor.
All Donations will be acknowledged in the winter issue of Hospice of Lubbock’s newsletter, “The Sign of the Dove.” All gifts are tax deductible and donors will receive a receipt letter for tax purposes.
This is a lovely gift at Christmas time and serves the dual purpose of memorializing, honoring, or celebrating someone special AND helping Hospice of Lubbock to fulfill its promise to the community to provide hospice care to everyone in need, regardless of ability to pay. |
