dove GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS AT HOSPICE OF LUBBOCK dove

Hospice care differs from other more traditional approaches to health care in that hospice addresses our patients and their families holistically.  Hospice care addresses not only the physical pains of our patients, but also the emotional and spiritual pains they may be experiencing.  Therefore, we have licensed and trained counselors, social workers and chaplains to help ease the way.  Our service for the patient and their family begin at the moment of admission to hospice and continues for at least fourteen months after the death of the patient.

Our Grief Recovery team provides a number of opportunities for help in growth and healing in the grief process.  We know that all people grieve the death of a loved one and that each person grieves in their own way, but no one has to grieve alone.  The burden of grief is lightened and healing begins when people have opportunities to talk about their grief with others who have, also lost a loved one.  Through out the year we provide the various opportunities for grieving people listed below.

FOR ADULTS

  • WALKING TOGETHER:  A Grief Recovery Support Group Providing information about grief and loss as well as sharing with others who have also, lost a loved one, through death.

  • MEN'S COFFEE GROUP:  Sharing questions and thoughts with others experiencing a similar loss. For men only.  Meets every Wednesday 9:00 am - 10:30 am
  • INFANT, PREMATURE LOSS AND MISCARRIAGE SUPPORT GROUP:  Healing through sharing...you do not have to travel the journey of healing alone.
